Shared Housing

In a "shared housing" arrangement, unrelated individuals share an apartment or house and live cooperatively. Each person in the house has some shared space (i.e., the living room, kitchen, etc.), and some private space (a bedroom, etc.). This housing option can provide older individuals with affordable housing, companionship, increased security, and emotional and physical support. Shared housing should meet the needs of all of the individuals sharing the dwelling.
